I love President Trump!

That might come as a shock to some people, but I always try to find the good qualities in people, and a situation.

There was a bit of a controversy this week when our President said that he made Juneteenth famous. Now, I have to admit, I saw a calendar alert pop up last week, and I really had no clue what it was. By the end of the week, you were probably living under a rock if you didn’t know what Juneteenth was.

As you know, President Trump moved his rally to the following day, June 20th, and I’m going out on a limb here…. President Trump will go down in history as making June 20th famous as well.

It’s the day he jumped the shark.

“Jumping the shark is an idiom used to describe a moment when something that was once widely popular, but has since grown less popular, makes a misguided attempt at generating publicity that instead only serves to highlight its irrelevance.”

For those of you old enough, it refers to the Happy Days episode when Fonzi jumped over a shark on water skis, wearing shorts and his signature leather jacket.

As you probably read, our President and his team were duped by a bunch of “kids” from Generation Z (Born 1997–2012). They used social media to request tickets, build hype, but never planned to go. They’d post what to do, delete it, repost, etc. Even President Trump bragged about the “hype” of “over 1 million requests to attend” that poured in.

Seriously, if you have a grandchild or child in this age bracket ask them how they duped the President of the United States and his team using social media. The President is probably asking a certain 14 year old Gen Z’er... “I know you fixed the VCR to stop flashing 12:00, so can tell me about that other clock thing all the kids are talking about?”

Personally, I find it hilarious, and I would imagine anyone with a good sense of humor would too. Keep your eye on this GenZ group, cause they’re gonna make a mark on this planet by the time they’re done!

So why would I make a statement like “I love President Trump” you might ask? For the half of you that haven’t clicked away by now, let me put it to you this way…

President Trump is an amazing leader. He has the ability to connect with people that very few people have been able to do in all of history. Love him or hate him, he gets to your core. The problem with that incredible talent is that he uses it to be the greatest divider of our lifetimes, and I’d say the greatest divider that our country has ever seen.

He had the chance after the election to be the greatest unifer in the history of our country. I wanted Donald Trump to be the greatest President of all time. I want every President to set that bar because that’s good for America.

I love President Trump because he has awoken the next generation. The under-represented. The ones that have been left behind. The ones that will be cleaning up our mess. When he jumped the shark by getting duped by some teenagers and 20-somethings, he jumped the sharked BIGLY!

So, thank you Mr. President for making June 20th famous too.

What if I’m wrong? Who cares?! I’m just a random dude having some fun writing a blog. If President Trump wins again, I will want him to be the greatest President. I will ask him to stop making neighbors and families into enemies. I will challenge him to set the all-time yugest record for approval ratings. The drumbeat of division has to end.

You can call me an optimist, a fool, or whatever you want, just don’t call me late to dinner! That #DadJoke is complements of my Dad. Happy Heavenly Father’s Day!

Paul Dominick Cannella has been called a dick, cynic, asshole and a nice guy. They’re all true. I respect your opinion, but I don’t expect you to respect mine.
